This fifth-generation X Series camera features a back-illuminated 40.2-megapixel X-Trans™ CMOS 5 HR sensor. Its latest image-processing algorithm combines high resolution with a high signal-to-noise ratio. The improved pixel structure gathers light more efficiently, with a standard sensitivity starting at ISO 125. An electronic shutter speed of up to 1/180,000 sec gives you precise exposure control and more freedom to shoot at wide apertures. Deep-learning-based subject-detection autofocus recognises animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, aeroplanes, trains, insects and drones. An advanced predictive autofocus algorithm helps track fast-moving subjects. Choose from 20 Film Simulation modes, including REALA ACE, which combines faithful colour reproduction with crisp tonal gradation. A digital teleconverter offers 1.4× and 2× magnification.

Enhanced features

Five-axis in-body image stabilisation provides up to 7.0 stops of compensation, making handheld shooting easier in low light while retaining the camera's compact handling. Record 6.2K/30p video with autofocus tracking, or use the top-plate AUTO mode lever to let the camera identify the scene and select suitable settings while keeping your subject in focus. The new rounded body and refined grip provide a comfortable, secure hold. A dedicated Film Simulation dial lets you switch colour looks intuitively for photos and video. The built-in pop-up flash automatically adjusts its output for dim scenes and backlit portraits. A rear tilting LCD with 1.84 million dots, along with an updated button layout, makes both still and video shooting more comfortable.
